Idamattam Kannan is a highly respected and accomplished traditional percussion artist with over 20 years of excellence in the musical field<\/strong>. Hailing from Kottayam, he is a dynamic and passionate performer with more than 18 years of experience in temple music<\/strong>, specializing in Chenda and Thimila<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A prominent figure in Kerala\u2019s traditional music scene, he has performed Chenda Melam and Panchavadyam<\/strong> alongside legendary artists like Mattam Shankaran Kutty Marar<\/strong>, showcasing his mastery and dedication to the art form.<\/p>\n

Kannan is a recipient of the prestigious Kerala State Cultural Ministry\u2019s Young Artist Fellowship<\/strong> for Chenda Melam. His contributions to traditional percussion have earned him 15+ awards and recognitions<\/strong>, reflecting his commitment to preserving and promoting this rich cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

He has conducted and performed in over 3000 programs<\/strong>, and has trained 175+ students<\/strong> in temple percussion, mentoring the next generation of artists with passion and discipline.<\/p>\n
